Ceremony

The exquisite Carriage Rooms and Montalto House are fully licensed to offer religious weddings, civil marriages, civil partnerships and humanist weddings, all of which can be held in one of two different, outstanding settings at the estate.

The Walled Garden

If you have always dreamt of an outdoor ceremony, then the romantic surroundings of our Walled Garden including feature fountain and elegant glasshouse offers this option during the warmer months. Guests will await your arrival with much anticipation. You will then emerge from under a flowering arch as you make your way to the top of the garden. A stunning place which showcases borders of herbaceous perennials and Espalier pear trees along its walls, all perfectly maintained to ensure the backdrop is picture perfect.

We also have the option of an indoor ceremony should the weather not be favourable.

The Sawmill

For that impressive and unique indoor ceremony, The Sawmill can seat up to 180 guests whilst delivering an atmospheric setting for couples to commit to one another, surrounded by their families and friends. A historically significant and listed building, with distinctive stone walls and illuminated arches, this space offers a beautifully unexpected setting for indoor ceremonies.

For something even more intimate…

If you are wishing to hold a smaller celebration of up to 60 guests, then why not consider the beautifully restored 18th Century Georgian mansion that is Montalto House? This may just be your ideal venue. Please contact our team for more specific information on this opulent setting.

For just you and a few…

If you would like to get married surrounded by your closest family and friends and the beauty of nature,  the Montalto boathouse might be just the place. This structure sits adjacent to a small lake with the exquisite Georgian Montalto House as the perfect background for photographs. Use of this space is weather dependent and can accommodate up to 12 people.
